Barbara Ward brings significant financial industry, operational and international experience. Ms Ward has previously served on the boards of a number of large and listed companies, including Qantas Airways Limited (where she also chaired in Audit Committee), Ampol Limited, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Lion Nathan Limited, Multiplex Limited, Data Advantage Limited, Allco Finance Group Limited and the Rail Infrastructure Corporation. She was also a board member of The Sydney Opera House Trust and Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Ms Ward was Chief Executive Officer of Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services from 1993 to 1998. Prior to that, she held various positions at TNT Limited, including General Manager Finance and served as a senior ministerial adviser to the Honourable PJ Keating.
