Scrupulous and methodical in his approach, Ben approaches his client relationships with a high level of integrity and the benefit of over 30 years of investment experience. Having worked across a range of asset classes and jurisdictions, Ben now provides a very personal advisory service to a select group of high-net-worth individuals including executives, retirees, entrepreneurs and multi-generational families. The length and breadth of his experience provides a sound perspective in advising his clients and helping them to manage and protect their wealth.
Ben’s original training was in economics and law, working for several years as a finance, tax and commercial lawyer at King & Wood Mallesons. He moved into investment banking early on, spending the large part of his career at Macquarie Bank, where he gained experience across Asia, Europe and North America, structuring and executing large cross-border transactions. Ben ultimately established the high-net-worth investor component of Macquarie’s Private Placement Group, which managed co-investments with Macquarie in its principal transactions. Interested in working with high-net-worth clients in a more strategic advisory capacity, Ben moved to UBS Wealth Management in 2010 and subsequently became a founding partner of LGT Wealth Management.
Ben continues to employ a very rigorous, long-term and personalised approach to his client relationships. As well as drawing on LGT Wealth Management’s global resources, he spends significant time researching macro trends, geo-politics, social and environmental issues and financial markets, and performs detailed financial analysis, leaving no stone unturned in managing his clients’ wealth to meet their investment objectives-both generating investment returns and protecting their wealth over economic cycles. In recent years, working closely with investment adviser, Rachel Etherington, Ben has focused on sustainable investing and building LGT Wealth Management’s sustainable investment offering and relationships with key players in this space.
