With time comes perspective, and Ian applies this to the deep and rewarding relationships he has formed over several decades assisting a select group of private families and for-purpose organisations in refining their approach to managing their capital.
With a combined Law and Arts degree from Monash University, Ian practiced in the 1990’s as a corporate lawyer across legal and compliance functions, before being seconded onto a number of high profile corporate acquisitions and capital raisings including issuance of corporate debt into Europe and the United States as part of Colonial Group Corporate Treasury.
In 1998, Ian transitioned into the private wealth industry, working with the likes of Merrill Lynch, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and UBS Wealth Management, before joining LGT Wealth Management Wealth Management and more recently transitioning to LGT Wealth Management.
With extensive support and global reach from LGT Wealth Management, Ian applies a rigorous and structured approach to multi-generational and perpetual investment mandates bringing together his deep understanding of client needs, with an endowment approach to investing that incorporates non-traditional asset classes such as private equity, private debt, and global infrastructure. Ian willingly shares his knowledge, experience and capability, empowering clients to adopt the most appropriate strategies to protect and grow their capital base. By drawing on his extensive network of likeminded people, Ian facilitates meaningful but discreet introductions that make a significant difference in both business and more personal matters.
In addition to his work as a wealth manager, Ian pursues his passion for film as Director of Movies with The Stars, is an active member of a number of school and sporting associations, and sits on the Royal Melbourne Hospital Human Research and Ethics Committee.
