Mr. Clifford brings deep expertise in the management of businesses in Australia and internationally, as well as substantial governance experience as a board director in industry, resources and banking. He is Chairman of Bechtel Australia Pty Ltd. a director of Bechtel Group Inc (USA) and involved with the National Gallery of Victoria as a member of the Council of Trustees and chairman of its foundation. He is a senior adviser to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. He is the immediate past chairman of Qantas Airways Ltd, and he previously held directorships on the Boards of Barclays Bank plc, Rio Tinto plc, Rio Tinto Limited, and Freeport-McMoRan Inc.
Mr. Clifford had a distinguished career with Rio Tinto both in Australia and overseas, where he ultimately held the position of chief executive from 2000 to 2007. His experience is very complementary to the LGT Wealth Management business, which delivers global investment advice to its Australian client base of high-net-worth individuals, family offices and not-for-profit organisations.
