Michael advises entrepreneurs, families and family offices on managing complex financial needs, preserving wealth across generations and making confident long-term decisions.
With more than 25 years’ experience in private banking and wealth management across Australia, the United Kingdom and Asia-Pacific, Michael brings deep leadership experience and an international perspective to client relationships. He works closely with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across investment management, wealth structuring, succession planning and intergenerational wealth.
Prior to joining LGT Wealth Management, Michael was Head of Global Wealth Management Australia at UBS, following the integration of Credit Suisse. He previously led Credit Suisse’s Australian wealth management business for more than seven years and spent 17 years across the two firms in senior leadership and client-facing roles. During this time, he was responsible for strategic direction, business growth and integration, while leading teams of relationship managers, investment specialists and project managers.
Earlier in his career, Michael held senior roles at Credit Suisse including Market Team Head for New South Wales and Senior Client Advisor. He also spent five years at Macquarie Private Bank, advising private clients in Australia, and began his financial services career in London with Royal Bank of Canada, where he gained experience in global fixed income markets.
Before entering financial services, Michael served in the British Army with the Scots Guards regiment, reaching the rank of Captain. He was deployed to Northern Ireland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Germany, experiences which helped shape his leadership approach and perspective.
Alongside his professional career, Michael has a longstanding commitment to the not-for-profit sector. He is President of the Board of the Veerni Foundation, which supports the education and empowerment of young women from disadvantaged rural communities in Rajasthan, India.
