Willem Strydom is Chief Technology Officer at LGT Wealth Management Australia, based in Sydney. He is responsible for the firm’s technology strategy and the continued development of its platforms, engineering capabilities, data infrastructure and artificial intelligence initiatives.
Willem brings more than 26 years’ technology experience, including over a decade in senior wealth management technology leadership roles. Prior to joining LGT Wealth Management, he was Director of Engineering at Macquarie Wealth, where he led a 200-person multidisciplinary technology function spanning engineering, platforms, data and AI, site reliability and architecture. He oversaw major platform-modernisation and agile transformation programs, as well as the Wealth data and AI strategy.
Earlier in his career, Willem held senior roles at Avaloq and Temenos, including work on the BT Panorama transformation for Westpac. He also founded and grew a software business in South Africa before its sale.
Willem holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Pretoria, an MBA from Henley Business School and a General Tax Diploma from the University of South Africa.
