About us

LGT is the largest Private Banking and Asset Management group in the world to be owned by an entrepreneurial family. As the family office of the Princely House of Liechtenstein, we have years of experience in the management of sizeable sums of assets.

Your challenge

This function ensures that selected credit exposures with elevated risk undergo an independent, standardised and transparently documented risk assessment. This provides the relevant decision-making bodies with an additional assessment from the independent risk management function (‘second line of defence’) as an integral part of the credit application documentation.

Your duties and responsibilities

  • Independent review and written assessment of selected loan applications submitted by the business unit on the basis of predefined, risk-based criteria
  • Preparation of a standardised and transparent risk assessment as an integral part of the loan application process
  • Critical evaluation of the loan application documents submitted by the market division and proactively requesting additional information or clarifications. Professional dialogue and close cooperation with the credit department and other relevant specialist units
  • Identification, documentation and subsequent reporting of weaknesses or structural issues to the relevant management functions and credit decision-making bodies
  • Assumption of deputising duties

Your profile

  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in banking and finance, business administration, economics, law or a comparable field
  • Several years’ experience in credit risk management (preferably in the Lombard lending business) or in a comparable control function.
  • Good knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements relating to lending and credit monitoring
  • Ability to assess and document complex issues critically, in a structured manner and in a way that is appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to represent independent positions to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation in a factual, persuasive and assertive manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate constructive collaboration and the professional handling of differing interests
  • An independent and meticulous approach to work, coupled with a high degree of reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Good written and spoken German and English
