  • Morry has worked in investment management since the 1990s, beginning his career at Rothschild asset management as a quantitative researcher on markets and investing. He then joined Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which was a world leader in systematic investing, and then went on to become the Global Head and Chief Investment Officer of active equities. Employees of Vinva have equity ownership to align with delivering returns in clients’ portfolios.
  • Kevin and Morry then discuss how Vinva utilises data and technology at scale to select investments in an innovative and transparent way. He believes that active management is about innovation and discipline and “to be effective, innovation requires a balance of progress and prudence.”
  • Finally, Morry discusses the similarities in running a global investment firm and being a Board member of a first grade NRL sporting club.

Morry has a long and well-recognised career in active investing globally. During the podcast Morry discusses how successful quantitative investing requires looking beyond the numbers “it’s not just about data and technology but employing high-quality people to create a strong culture that delivers consistent outcomes for clients.”
