Now in its 13th year, the event brought together 41 teams from a range of firms, including fund managers, consultancy businesses, accountancy practices, legal advisers and tax specialists. Teams competed throughout the afternoon, raising funds for Grief Encounter, which provides specialist support to children, young people and families through the pain of losing a loved one.

LGT Wealth Management covered the full cost of the event and matched every pound raised on the day, bringing the total donation to £67,742. The funds will support Grief Encounter’s work with bereaved children and families across the UK, including its counselling, support groups, workshops, helpline and online services.

This year’s tournament saw Aviva Investors crowned champions after a closely fought final against First Trust. Alongside the action on the court, teams also competed in the event’s fancy dress competition, with Deloitte taking home the prize for best dressed.

John Jopp, Partner and Head of Front Office at LGT Wealth Management, said: “Our annual dodgeball tournament has become a real highlight in the City calendar, and it is fantastic to see so many firms come together again in support of Grief Encounter. The day is always full of energy and good humour, but at its heart is a very serious purpose: helping children, young people and families access the support they need after the loss of someone close. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, donated and helped make this year’s event a success.”
